Bermuda is seeking an exceptional educational and system leader to serve as Commissioner of Education and lead the Bermuda Public School System at a significant point in its transformation. The Commissioner will lead the system with a clear focus on improving educational outcomes, strengthening system performance, implementing education reform, and building the organizational capability required for the transition toward the planned Education Authority. The role involves leading system transformation, building high-performing teams, creating a culture of accountability, and providing professional advice to the Minister and Permanent Secretary on educational policy.

Requirements

A Master’s Degree or equivalent, together with a professional qualification in an education discipline. Demonstrated leadership of system transformation that includes educational improvement, evidence of improved outcomes, organisational capability, complex change, stakeholder engagement and effective financial and resource management. A minimum of fifteen (15) years’ relevant experience, including ten (10) years’ experience at senior management level or equivalent experience. Registration with the Bermuda Educators Council, or eligibility for registration.
