The Education Officer, Reading will work under the direction of the Director of Academics to manage the development and implementation of reading programmes and curriculum for teachers and students in all Government schools. The post holder also trains teachers and administrators to implement reading programmes and curriculum, including intervention programmes and monitors the implementation of these programmes and curriculum. The post holder is responsible for developing assessments in consultation with the Curriculum and Assessment Section. In addition, the post holder is directly responsible for the supervision of the Reading Resource Teachers.
Requirements
A minimum of five (5) years teaching experience in reading and three (3) year administrative experience is required for the post. The Post holder must possess a Master’s degree in Reading or a related field, with course work at the post graduate level in reading intervention or the equivalent. Additionally, the post holder must be a certified teacher and registered with the Bermuda Educators Council.
