Demonstrable subject knowledge across the strands of the adopted computing/digital literacy curriculum: computational thinking and programming, creating digital content, data and information, online safety/digital citizenship, and emerging technologies including artificial intelligence. Confidence teaching digital citizenship and online safety in age-appropriate ways across the full age range. A sound working understanding of artificial intelligence and its implications for young learners, with the ability to teach AI concepts and responsible use in age-appropriate ways. A minimum of two years’ experience teaching ICT, computing, or digital literacy as a discrete subject; or equivalent professional experience in a digital field combined with teaching experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computing/ICT Education, or a closely related field, together with a recognized teaching qualification and eligibility for Bermuda Educators Council (BEC) certification; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a documented specialization, endorsement, or substantial coursework in computing/ICT. Registration with the Bermuda Educators Council is required. Copies of all relevant degrees/certificates, transcripts and a Bermuda Educators Council license must be attached.
