Works under the direction of the Education Officer, Special Education, to implement modified physical education activities and programmes and to co-teach with Physical Education teachers whenever possible. The postholder also consults with parents and teachers. Successful candidates will be expected to employ research-based instructional and assessment strategies which promote active learning and ensure the academic success of all learners.

Requirements

Minimum of three years of relevant experience delivering physical education and/or adapted physical education or motor-skills instruction, within a school or special education setting. Minimum Education Qualifications: Minimum of a Master’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or Adapted Physical Education. In lieu of the above, a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or Adapted Physical Education may be accepted. Must have a recognized APE certification demonstrating equivalent specialized training. Registration with the Bermuda Educators Council is required.
