Working under the supervision of the Financial Secretary, the Director of Legal is accountable for leading and managing all legislative programs across the Ministry of Finance. The post holder is responsible for providing legal and technical counsel to the Minister, the Financial Secretary, and the Ministry team. Additionally, the post holder will support any legal interns within the Ministry. The role involves reviewing, developing, and amending policy to ensure alignment with legislation, and representing the Ministry to outside stakeholders related to all legislative matters.

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of experience in policy development, legislative affairs, or legal advisory, focused on financial or governmental matters. The post holder must be a qualified Barrister and/or Attorney of a Commonwealth Jurisdiction. Must be a member of the Bermuda Bar Association or at least eligible to be a member. Post holder must comply with the rules and regulations of the Bermuda Bar Association.
