The post works directly under the Manager, Assessment and Treatment Unit with responsibility for providing a wide range of psychological assessments, intervention and treatment to individual clients and families, to reduce recidivism risks and related triggers consistently applying risk needs and responsivity and other principles to reduce risks and harm to the wider community. The post holder has direct leadership and supervision of the Forensic/Clinical Psychologist II and the assigned Senior Probation Officers, to manage and address their work as well as risks through direct work, and also in offender groups, in accordance with the relevant legislation, mandates, policies and procedures. The post is also instrumental in developing and implementing offender programmes and services based on accreditation standards, and provides direct training, clinical oversight and administrative functions. In addition, the post plays a vital role in the legislated Offender Risk Management Team, the Mental Health in Corrections Team and other committees to mitigate risks posed to the community by offenders under community supervision. The post holder also performs additional duties as required.
