The post works directly under the Manager, Assessment and Treatment Unit with responsibility for providing a wide range of psychological assessments, intervention and treatment to individual clients and families, to reduce recidivism risks and related triggers consistently applying risk needs and responsivity and other principles to reduce risks and harm to the wider community. The post holder has direct leadership and supervision of the Forensic/Clinical Psychologist II and the assigned Senior Probation Officers, to manage and address their work as well as risks through direct work, and also in offender groups, in accordance with the relevant legislation, mandates, policies and procedures. The post is also instrumental in developing and implementing offender programmes and services based on accreditation standards, and provides direct training, clinical oversight and administrative functions.

Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years' experience dealing with specialized offenders or offence specific populations, with at least four (4) years' experience in a supervisory capacity with practice in therapy, cognitive, and behavioral therapy and/or addictions. Doctoral degree in Forensic or Clinical Psychology, with specialist training in assessment and treatment of specialized and high-risk offender groups in a criminal justice setting. Applicants with a Master's degree and eight (8) years' experience will also be considered if they meet other criteria.
