The post-holder works under the supervision of the Senior Accounts Officer and is responsible for a full range of professional duties such as key accounting functions on the purchasing, payables, receivables, payroll and general ledger modules for all departments within the portfolio of the Ministry. The post-holder provides advice to department(s) accounting administrators to ensure compliance with Financial Instructions, Conditions of Employment and Code of Conduct and any other applicable policies and procedures. As a core member of the central accounting Unit for the Ministry, the post-holder assumes and performs a dual role by providing E1 duties/support on behalf of departments within the Ministry portfolio during periods of staff shortages/absences. The post-holder is the initial contact and troubleshoots E1 issues for all departments within the Ministry portfolio. In addition, the post holder inputs cycle 1 budget and revised estimates for all departments within the Ministry portfolio and provides support for core year end administration for the ministry. The Accounts Officer is responsible for training all staff within the Ministry portfolio on the Purchasing and Accounts Payable Modules of the Enterprise One system (E1), provides support in training all administrative staff within the Ministry Portfolio on Financial Instructions of the Government of Bermuda.
