Works under the general direction of Plant Manager with minimum supervision to direct and supervise day to day plant operations and staff, and to oversee the planned maintenance program and plant repairs. Organizes and implements staff training programs; and regulates the Contractors having access to the facility for disposal and maintenance operations. Directs operations for facility start up and facility shut down. Is accountable for overall plant safety, environmental compliance and security and administers all operational contracts. Responsible for informing the plant manager of production needs and outcomes on a reporting basis. Professionally liable for the safe and effective operation of a $100M+ steam power plant and the life safety of fifty (50) staff, all site occupants, contractors and users on a 24 hour basis.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of (3) years post qualification experience including five (5) years' experience working in a high-pressure steam plant or power plant operation with at least (3) years at a supervisory level. Must hold a Professional Designation in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or a First Class Power Engineering License.
