The Applications Support Specialist is a professional-level post that reports to the Applications Manager. Under the direction of the Applications Manager, the Applications Support Specialist functions with independence in a multi-site healthcare environment. Key responsibilities include: Develops and maintains complex new and existing clinical / business application systems utilizing working knowledge of business systems, clinical information systems, electronic medical record (EMR) applications and MS Office applications; Provides application support of all aspects of system development life cycle; Conducts feasibility studies; Assists with design / build system activities; Provide input into disaster preparedness plans; Attends Team meetings and participates in continuous quality and process improvement activities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Health Information / Informatics, clinical or equivalent work experience. Two (2) years of experience in Application Support, supporting similar Applications in a healthcare or business environment. Demonstrated knowledge in application support, healthcare environment preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills both technical and business focused. Pre-employment substance abuse screening is mandatory.
