Working under the direction of the Tax Commissioner, the Assistant Tax Commissioner, Audit and Compliance, manages the audit, investigation and inspection functions of the Office of the Tax Commissioner, to ensure compliance by taxpayers with the various tax legislations under the purview of the Office of the Tax Commissioner. The postholder is accountable for the establishment and maintenance of evidence-based tax policy and education, for resolving objections and appeals in a timely and professional manner and recommending changes to policies and legislation. The postholder manages the operational and human resources of the Section, including assigning allocated human resources, administering the operational, financial planning and budgeting functions for the section etc., to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the Department. The Postholder also contributes to the strategic direction of the Office of the Tax Commissioner.

Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years relevant post qualification experience in a tax or auditing environment, must have experience in auditing computerized accounting systems. Professionally qualified in Accounting or Auditing and be a full member of an internationally recognized professional body (i.e. Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, etc.)
