Under the leadership of the Controller the Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts and assisting with the preparation of the annual financial statements in accordance with PSAB. The post holder will assist with the coordi- nation and guidance of more Junior Accountants. They will ensure the timely and full reconciliation of all general ledger accounts. Key responsibilities include: Preparing and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information Maintaining and balances general ledger by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies Preparing the monthly management accounts Assisting in preparation of the annual financial statements in accordance with PSAB Preparing any ad-hoc reports as required by Management or external stakeholders, such as Department of Statistics Reviewing and approve balance sheet reconciliations monthly Supervising and train staff in accounting processes and routines Qualifications &/ Registration required: Bachelor's degree in business, economics or related field. Master's degree is an asset Certified as a CPA, CA, CMA, ACCA or equivalent and possess membership in good standing with the appropriate professional organization, if applicable Two-Three (2-3) years related experience Previous hospital or healthcare experience would be an asset
