The post holder is responsible for providing technical support for the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of training needs for public health nurses, nurses working in the two Government run long term care facilities, trainee nurses and nursing associates. The post holder will be responsible for identifying and establishing public health competencies training for skill development to meet programme needs. The post holder will assure conditions for monitoring compliance of skill acquisition based on established standards of practice. The post holder is also accountable for ensuring the provision of health care services that emphasize health promotion, health screenings, assessments, disease prevention, data collection and analysis and documentation. The post holder will provide guidance to and act as a resource for the Nursing Coordinators, Nursing Administrators, Health Visitors, Public Health Nurses and Allied Health personnel. In addition, the post holder is accountable for the maintenance of comprehensive client records that meet all required standards of practice.

Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years' relevant clinical nursing experience with three (3) years in public health or nursing education, in a community setting. Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent qualification and be a Registered Nurse. Certification in Community Health Nursing or equivalent; must be Registered or eligible for registration with the Bermuda Nursing and Midwifery Council; must have Current CPR certification. A Masters' degree in Nursing Education is preferred. Valid Bermuda Driver's License is required.
