Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) seeks qualified, highly motivated, and experienced professionals to work in a supportive but demanding environment in the BHB laboratory, a comprehensive facility offering 5 disciplines: Microbiology, Clinical Biochemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Services, and Anatomic Pathology. Roles available include Medical Technologist Generalist-Core Lab (responsible for laboratory analyses in Hematology, Clinical Biochemistry and Transfusion Services), Medical Technologist-Microbiology (responsible for analyzing all types of microbiology specimens), Medical Technologist-Cytology (responsible for diagnostic evaluation of gynecological and non-gynecological preparations), and Medical Technologist-Histology (responsible for processing, embedding and sectioning surgical, autopsy, and other specimens). Technologists are expected to provide coverage over a 24-hour period, 7 days a week, including public holidays and on-call coverage.

Requirements

BSc Degree in Medical Laboratory Services or Medical Technology; Higher National Certification with specific training in the relevant discipline (Transfusion, Microbiology, Cytology, or Histology); ASCP, HPC, CSMLS registered or equivalent; Minimum 2-5 years post-qualification clinical experience depending on specific role. Registration with the Council for Allied Health Professionals is required.
