Our client, HMC Burnaby Urgent Care & Medical Imaging, are seeking a dynamic and organized Medical Receptionist to join their team. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity which involves managing a busy medical center. The successful applicant will interact with patients, staff, physicians and external clients on a daily basis while carrying out the day-to-day operations of the practice to ensure a high level of service to patients and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Greeting and booking of patients in the surgery, for imaging and laboratory;
Processing of patient accounts;
Booking of referral appointments with other medical offices, hospitals and laboratories;
Processing and editing all insurance claims;
Filing of reports in patient files;
Educating patients on products and services;
Maintaining medical office supplies inventory, including anticipating supply needs, placing and expediting orders;
Accounts payable, receivables, bank reconciliations, bank deposits.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of three years' experience in a receptionist or administrative support role.
Previous experience in a medical practice or medical clinic environment is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in medical practice computerized systems and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT coding, medical insurance claims and accounting is an advantage.
High attention to detail, time management, organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Customer service-oriented with a friendly and positive demeanor.
Must be able to work extended hours and weekends.
