Under the supervision of the Food Services Supervisor and Food Services Manager, the Diet Technician / Cashier works toward the achievement of the department’s goals for providing high quality food services to patients, staff and the public. Key responsibilities include: Monitoring Dietary Food Management interface for admissions, discharges, transfers, allergies and diet changes; Ensuring menus are printed and distributed to patients in a timely manner and according to the Department policy; Communicating with dietary staff regarding patient needs based on computer generated reports; Receiving regular patient menus to ensure they have been completed properly and are able to be scanned correctly; Operating cash register during hours of cafeteria operation and secure monies at the end of each shift.
Requirements
High School Diploma with a minimum of two years’ experience in computerized clerical and food service setting; Certification in basic Food Service & Nutrition Courses is preferred; Ability to operate a cash register and balance funds at the end of each shift; Demonstrable computer skills, math skills.
