The Trainee will be required to perform environmental health duties to ensure that acceptable standards are maintained to safeguard the health and welfare of the people of Bermuda, guest workers and visitors in accordance with the relevant legislation whilst training to become an Environmental Health Officer. They will spend time in Environmental Health, Port Health, Health & Safety and Vector Control. Essential knowledge and skills include strong interpersonal skills, excellent written communication, the ability to work collaboratively, problem-solving strategies, and technical knowledge of environmental health laws and safety regulations.

Requirements

The Trainee must have an undergraduate degree with honours in a pure applied science, or qualifications and experience considered to be equivalent. Also, a minimum of three months relevant work or volunteer experience in environmental health is required. Must possess a valid Bermuda driver's license and may be required to travel to the UK for practical training.
