Registration with the Bermuda Allied Health Council is mandatory. SONOGRAPHERS (FULL-TIME, PART TIME & LOCUM) Prepares exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct Sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures. Assumes responsibility for the safety of the patient during the Sonography examination. Reviews patient medical history and supporting clinical information. Ensures that the Sonography examination order is complete, contains relevant information, and meets the standard of "medical necessity". Evaluates any contraindications, insufficient patient preparation and the patient's inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination and associated procedures Level 1 RDMS or RDCS Zero – two (0-2) years of post-graduate experience required with the applicable certification from an accredited institution. Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDMS) with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or equivalent. Minimum Certification in one or more of the following areas: Abdomen, OB/GYN, Adult Echo. Level 2 RDMS or RDCS - Two (2) or more years of post-graduate experience required with the applicable certification from an accredited institution. Registration: Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDMS) with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or equivalent Certification in one or more of the following areas: Abdomen, OB/GYN, Adult Echo. Level 3RDMS or RCDS or RVT or RMSKS - In addition to Level 1 or 2 certification, the Sonographer must have certification in the following areas: Vascular, Breast, Musculoskeletal, Paediatric Echo, Fetal Echo, Paediatric Sonography IMAGING TECHNOLOGISTS (FULL-TIME, PART TIME & LOCUM) Adheres to the established Strategic Plan, Vision and Mission statements of the Bermuda Hospitals Board and Imaging Service Department Standards. Maintains established departmental goals and objectives. Evaluates physician orders to determine the most appropriate action to obtain optimal images of our clients for diagnostic clarity. Utilizes appropriate imaging protocols. Consults with the Radiologist, as required. Participates in educational programs, current literature and in-service programs. Practices Radiation Safety and Infection Control techniques at all times. Agrees to rotate through imaging modalities as required by way of experience and/or certification in CT, Mammography/Bone Density and MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, or Radiology. Required to be a part of the on-call rota. Registration with the Allied Health Professions Council. Registration/ certification from accredited Diagnostic Imaging Program. Current ARRT/ CAMRT/DCRR or equivalent. Associates/Bachelor's degree in Medical Imaging with 1-2 years' post-graduate experience. Level 1 - Modality (primary pathway). Single modality in one of the applicable Primary Pathways: X-ray, MRI, Nuclear Medicine with Zero two (0-2) years of post-graduate experience required with the applicable certification from an accredited institution. Level 2-Modality (primary pathway). Single modality in one of the applicable Primary Pathways: X-ray, MRI, Nuclear Medicine with two (2) or more years of post-graduate experience required with the applicable certification from an accredited institution. Level 3 Modality (post-primary pathway) CAT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, Bone Densitometry. With two (2) or more years of post-graduate experience required with the applicable certifications from an accredited institution (based on jurisdiction) and actively rotating.
