The post holder is accountable for providing community, school and clinic-based nursing care within established nursing standards and guidelines, including direct nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, counselling, and anticipatory guidance to clients. The post holder works as part of a community health team to provide health maintenance, disease prevention, health education, and health promotion to individuals, families, and groups. The role includes supervision and operation of clinics, working autonomously in schools and the community, providing care to various groups, and influencing health policy.

Requirements

The post holder must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or equivalent and be a Registered Nurse (RN) registered or eligible with the Bermuda Nursing and Midwifery Council. Minimum of three (3) years relevant nursing experience in Community Health Nursing or equivalent. Must have current CPR certification. A certificate in midwifery, community, or public health nursing is preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, consideration may be given to those with an Associate's Degree in Nursing and five (5) years of relevant experience.
