Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual and/or hearing impairments, ensuring equitable access to the curriculum through accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology. Maintain accurate documentation, assessments, and IEPs while ensuring compliance with educational legislation related to special education and disability rights. Provide expert guidance to school staff and families, and make professional decisions regarding instructional strategies, accommodations, and student support plans.

Requirements

Must possess a Master’s degree in Special Education, Education of the Visually Impaired, Education of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or related field, along with certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH), a valid teaching license, valid BEC license and Braille certification (for TVI roles), and sign language proficiency (for TDHH roles). Minimum of three years in a related school setting.
