The post holder will carry out general duties and have supervisory responsibilities. Under the direction of a Superintendent, the successful candidate is responsible for planning work and the effective day-to-day operation of a crew of up to five employees, while managing the maintenance and development of gardens, parks, and other areas. The role requires advanced knowledge of horticultural practices, pest management, nutritional requirements of plants, and safety regulations. Additionally, the post holder will operate various tools and equipment, communicate with the public, and manage order placements for materials and equipment.

Requirements

A minimum of five years working experience at a Skilled Gardener level and advanced knowledge and understanding of horticultural practices. Must have completed the Bermuda Secondary School Certificate (BSSC) or equivalent and two years additional certificated academic and practical training in horticulture, as well as additional management training (i.e. Foreman's Skill course).
