The postholder will work under the general supervision of the Principal Structural Engineer to manage the planning, design and construction of civil engineering works with a structural basis including preparing tender and contract documents, site supervision, investigations and feasibility studies. The post holder will also manage staff on construction sites to ensure that functional requirements and performance specifications for projects are met, financial control is maintained and safety and the environment is protected. Employed as a specialist in the area of bridge, marine or building engineering and as such must be able to work with significant level of autonomy.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of three (3) years post professional designation Chartered Engineer(C.Eng) Professional Engineer (P.Eng), Member of Institute of Chartered Engineers (MICE) or equivalent experience with a minimum of seven (7) years overall experience (post qualification BSC, BEng, or equivalent) in mainstream structural engineering with an emphasis on Marine, Bridge or Building Engineering. Minimum Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering / P.Eng, C.Eng, MICE, or equivalent. Must be registered as a Professional Engineer in Bermuda or equivalent professional engineering body overseas as required for registration under the current Professional Engineer's Registration Act.
