Under the direction of the Assistant Supervisor of RE(Real Estate), DiHVG, the Senior Technical Officer - Real Estate is accountable for supervision, monitoring and compliance enforcement of Dealers in High Value Goods ("DiHVGs") and those entities that deal with precious metals and stones, vehicles, as well as auctioneers under the Proceeds of Crime Act 1997, the Proceeds of Crime (Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Supervision and Enforcement) Act 2008 ("SEA"), the Proceeds of Crime (Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing) Regulations 2008, and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Additional Main Duties: COMPLIANCE DUTIES: Ensures the compliance of DiHVGs, dealers in precious metals and stones, real estate brokers and agents, and registered entities in accordance with Bermuda's legislative framework, including but not limited to, the Proceeds of Crime Act 1997, the Real Estate Brokers' Licensing Act 2017, the Companies Act 1981, the Registrar of Companies (Supervision and Regulation) Act 2020, and the Registrar of Companies (Compliance Measures) Act 2017. Ensures compliance of supervised entities and/or persons. Performs and monitors on-site inspections of DiHVGs, dealers in precious metals and stones, real estate brokers and agents, and registered entities using a risk-based approach to supervision. Including 'policing the perimeter' to ensure businesses that fall within the various DiHVGs sectors that have not registered with the Office of the Superintendent of Real Estate are not breaching Section 9 of SEA.
