• Liaise with internal and external audit providing information as requested, responding to queries, ensuring operation of financial reporting controls, and effectively supporting the overall audit processes.
• Keep the Bermuda Financial Controller and Bermuda Chief Financial Officer fully informed of the status of the projects assigned, as well as relevant accounting-related issues that may arise from such projects.
• Ad hoc projects as required.Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years’ post qualification experience with 3 years relevant industry experience and technical expertise within re/insurance accounting.
• Previous experience working with actuarial and underwriting functions and senior management.
• Previous experience working with Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
• Strong working knowledge of reinsurance and insurance contract terms and structures and detailed knowledge and experience of US GAAP for insurance accounting.
• Knowledge of relevant accounting software (previous experience with Oracle, HFM, SAP Concur and Workiva preferred but not required).
• A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proficiency in the use of computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel).
