The post is accountable for the implementation of the Ministry of Education's vision for early childhood education and development, for the transformation of early childhood education and development programmes and services, in addition to the provision of strategic support and management of the operations of the Early Childhood Education Section, to ensure a continuum of high quality learning from birth through age 8 (the post holder's accountability for children of compulsory school age and above pertains only to students in the Bermuda Public School System). The post is accountable for ensuring that all staff of the Section discharge their duties and responsibilities in respect to the organization, management and delivery of programmes and services in accordance with the approved curriculum and established policies and programmes. The post is responsible for co-ordination, consultation and communication duties regarding early childhood education and development, and for carrying out any other duties to ensure the effective delivery of programmes and services.
