Additional Main Duties: DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT: - Manages via two Superintendents the day-to-day operation and maintenance of reverse osmosis water treatment plants, production, storage and distribution systems with an annual operating budget of approximately $4.0m utilizing industrial employees - Manages the day-to-day operation and maintenance of septage treatment and disposal plant and Government-owned sewerage system. - Manages the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the water production, storage, treatment and distribution systems on a cost-recovery basis to ensure that income from the sale of water exceeds the operating costs and that the surplus generated is adequate to fund replacement of worn out capital assets. Additional Tech and Education: - A minimum of three (3) years post professional designation (C. Eng., P. Eng. or equivalent) experience and a minimum of five (5) years overall experience (post qualification BSc, B.Eng or equivalent) in management and operation of water and wastewater related activities including direct responsibility for operation and maintenance of water treatment and/or sewage treatment works, experience in effectively leading a team of supporting technical staff and managing contractors. Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or related Engineering field.

The purpose of this position is to indirectly supervise the operation and maintenance of the Ministry of Public Works well fields, water treatment, pumping, distribution as well sewage collection and preliminary sewage treatment systems. Successful performance helps ensure a safe and reliable water supply for the public as well as the protection of local water resources and environment. Works under the general direction of the Principal Engineer Water and Sewage, to assist in the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the Government-owned public water supply, treatment, storage, distribution and wastewater disposal systems. Manages Staff on facility sites to ensure that the functional requirements and performance specifications for operations are met safety, and the environment is protected. Professionally liable for the safe and effective operation of $65M+ of water and wastewater assets, and the life and safety of 15 staff, all site occupants, contractors and users 24-hour basis.
