The post works under the guidance and direction of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Home Affairs and Housing and is accountable for the financial management, reporting administration, and management of resources associated with the Ministry. The post-holder will be engaged in strategic planning, budgeting process, financial and managerial accounting and control for the Department. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate and timely financial information is available, applying adequate controls in accordance with Financial Instructions, and carrying out other ministry duties as assigned by the Permanent Secretary and/or Ministry of Finance.

Requirements

A minimum of five years relevant post-qualification experience in finance and administration including experience in a senior position, minimum of two years working with a major Financial System. Must be professionally qualified in Accounting and be a full member of an internationally recognized professional body (e.g., Chartered Accountant, CPA, CIMA, CGA, ACCA). Must maintain current Continuing professional education requirements and be familiar with the CICA handbook and IFRS reporting standards.
