The Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) is seeking the services of a skilled and technically capable individual to work as an Assistant Director – Blockchain, Forensics & Data Intelligence within the Supervision (FinTech) Department. Reporting to a Deputy Director, the Assistant Director – Blockchain, Forensics & Data Intelligence will provide technical support in the development, implementation and operationalisation of the Authority’s blockchain forensics, artificial intelligence (AI), advanced analytics and data intelligence capabilities. The postholder will also support the effective supervision and oversight of digital asset businesses, Insurtech, payment services and other emerging technology enabled financial services by strengthening the Authority’s ability to identify risks, generate supervisory intelligence and apply data-driven insights to regulatory decision-making.

Requirements

A master’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, information systems, engineering or a related quantitative field from a recognised institution; A professional certification in data analytics, blockchain or related discipline is an advantage; A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in data analytics, data science, blockchain analysis, financial intelligence or a related technical field; Demonstrated experience working with large, complex datasets; Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, R or similar); Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
