As the Director, Bermuda Weather Service ('BWS'), you will be reporting to the Chief Operations Officer to provide strategic leadership for the development and delivery of meteorological and aeronautical information products and services, in accordance with the Authority's strategic objectives, approved budget, Financial Instructions, and relevant local and international requirements. The Director ensures the continued development, resilience, and long-term capability of BWS as Bermuda's National Meteorological and Hydrological Service (NMHS). Major responsibilities include strategic leadership of operations, succession planning for the team, management of operating budget and capital assets, serving as lead point of contact for stakeholders, and oversight of corporate governance and safety management systems.

Requirements

A recognized Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum of five years of recent experience in operational meteorology, qualification as an Aeronautical Meteorological Forecaster and three years of management experience; or ten years of experience in an operational meteorological environment with similar qualifications. Knowledge of employment legislation and regulatory requirements issued by ICAO, ASSI, BCAA, and WMO. Excellent communication skills and strong analytical skills.
