The VP, Pricing Actuary is responsible for assisting in the evaluation and pricing of reinsurance opportunities across RenaissanceRe's global credit portfolio. This includes all three pillars of our credit business: Credit, Bond & Political Risk ('CBPR'), Mortgage Credit, and Structured Credit. The role includes working with the Underwriting, Risk, and Analytics teams to deliver model enhancements, provide analytical tools, and support a global minimum technical standard for the analyst pool.

Requirements

Actuarial designation required (e.g. ACAS, FCAS, FIA or similar).
A minimum of 8 years' experience in the insurance industry with experience in reinsurance.
Prior experience with pricing of reinsurance treaties in the following classes of business preferred: Mortgage, Structured Credit.
Advanced knowledge of the common types of reinsurance and how they are relevant to each line of business.
Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including knowledge of concepts such as distribution extrapolation, curve fitting, and portfolio optimization.
Ability to effectively verbally communicate analytical findings to a broader audience.
Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Proficiency in programming (SQL, Python, VBA, Tableau, Power BI).
A university degree with emphasis on mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or a similar scientific field.
