Reporting to the Head of Life Actuarial, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the leadership of the Life Actuarial function. This role will work closely with the Life Underwriting & Actuarial teams to develop, maintain, and oversee pricing, valuation, and risk assessment functions within the Life business unit. Responsibilities include collaborating on actuarial strategies, providing modelling expertise for acquisitions, maintaining databases, enhancing assessment software, and assisting underwriting teams in client discussions.

Requirements

A Master’s degree in Mathematics, Finance or related quantitative discipline.
An actuarial designation such as ASA, FSA, FIA (or equivalent).
Minimum 7 years’ experience in Life & Health reinsurance, proportional and non-proportional (Quota Share, Excess of Loss, Stop-Loss, Cat) lines of business.
High level of proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Access), SQL Server, Visual Basic, R and actuarial modelling software such as AXIS, with advanced IT and computer modelling skills including VBA and TSQL.
Knowledge and experience with life insurance reserve calculation requirements and mechanics.
Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Solvency II.
Strong analytical and communication skills required.
