This role reports to the Vice President, Legal Reinsurance and is responsible for providing general legal support in connection with the Company's reinsurance transactions in the life and annuity (re)insurance market across a variety of international jurisdictions, including the U.S. and the Asia-Pacific region. The role will assist with transaction diligence, negotiation, documentation and execution, as well as other legal matters relating to the Company's reinsurance activities.

Requirements

Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 6 years' legal experience gained at a leading law firm and/or in the legal department of a large financial services company. Experience in M&A, reinsurance and/or other transactional work is required, with knowledge of the life (re)insurance industry and/or asset management business being an advantage. Experience and expertise in legal, regulatory, and other business issues relating to the negotiation and consummation of reinsurance and/or strategic corporate acquisitions. Understanding of fundamental principles of financial services regulation and compliance requirements. Demonstrated track record of drafting, negotiating, and consummating transaction agreements. Experience dealing with cross-jurisdictional transactions.
