The incumbent is responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering programmes of therapy following referral from a physician, with the goal of facilitating the resumption of patients’ former life roles in a full or altered capacity. Responsibilities include meeting productivity standards set by the department for direct patient contact and other related non-patient contact duties, performing assessments on all in and out patients using objective clinical measures, formulating treatment plans, carrying out specific therapeutic interventions, supervising and delegating treatment plans to aides and assistants, observing and evaluating treatment effects, maintaining patient documentation, and preparing clinical reports as requested.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required with certification, if applicable, in jurisdiction of training. 1-2 years post graduate experience in a related Physiotherapy environment, preferably within a hospital. Local registration to practice with the Council for Allied Health Professions (CAHP). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; liaison with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
