Global Atlantic is looking for two (2) AVP, Modeling Actuary for their Institutional Business to join the Bermuda Actuarial team. This role will be based in their Hamilton, Bermuda office and will lead all actuarial aspects related to modeling of required capital reporting for the company's Bermuda-based affiliates. The actuary will be the main point of contact between the Bermuda team and onshore actuarial modeling team, and will work closely with Valuation, Finance, Risk and Embedded Value (EV) teams. Key Responsibilities include serving as a lead actuary for modeling process for all Best Estimate Liability (BEL) projections, supporting Risk and other teams in calculating capital metrics, maintaining and improving relevant controls, and managing and mentoring other actuaries.

Requirements

5-7+ years of experience in (re)insurance and/or financial services industry. FSA (or equivalent). Experience with actuarial software and model development is required, MG-ALFA preferred. Life and Annuity experience strongly preferred. Experience with Bermuda BEL/SBA framework. Knowledge of US GAAP and US Stat relating to life and/or annuities preferred. Experience in Python programming or other modern programming languages. Strong technical, analytical and communication skills. Management experience and skills are desirable.
