The successful candidate will enter a 4-year apprenticeship based on the City & Guilds programme or an approved alternative. This programme entails on the job training and experience in the quarry workshops and attendance at training institutes overseas. The overseas elements include intensive practical and academic training and could entail part-time block releases or full-time attendance. At the end of this programme, the candidate will be expected to qualify for the City & Guilds designation, or equivalent. This is an internationally recognized qualification for skilled tradesmen. The successful candidate will be expected to attain and maintain the required standards and pass all exams required by the programme. Advancement will be reliant on the passing of these exams and overall ability. The duties of automotive/heavy equipment technician include the maintenance and repair of construction machinery and trucks, light trucks, cars and vans.

Requirements

Candidates should be at least 16 years old and must possess a GED with a firm background in mathematics. Candidates must have a willingness to perform as a member of a team. The successful candidate will also be expected to be a good timekeeper, be neat and tidy in appearance and adhere to all health and safety requirements.

$36913.5 per year
