The Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) is seeking the services of a skilled and capable individual to work as a Data Scientist in our Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Department. Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Data Scientist will be responsible for using machine learning, supervised and unsupervised learning (or other computer automation) techniques to assist the BMA in effective and efficient decision-making in the fulfilment of its prudential responsibilities. Key responsibilities include translating business needs into ML requirements, creating ML models for predictive insights, designing ML pipelines, implementing BI solutions, and developing modern data management platforms.

Requirements

A master's degree or equivalent qualification in computer science, mathematics, statistics or related field. A minimum of seven (7) years of related experience developing machine learning models, including deep learning models, with at least three (3) years at a senior level within the financial services industry or financial regulatory body. Strong experience in R, Python Stack, and SQL. Proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative analysis, multivariate calculus, and linear algebra. Experience deploying ML implementations in an enterprise setting.
