Responsible to the Chief Executive for all internal and external communications for the BHB. Lead development and management of all corporate communications and engagement channels (intranet, website, social media, bulletins, events), including content, policies, and staff guidance. Maintain understanding of healthcare trends and stakeholder relationships. Play a key role in the Executive Leadership Team and contribute to the wider corporate leadership of the organisation. Act as delegated budget holder and authorised signatory, accountable for expenditure and procurement, and manage external suppliers and advisers. Member of the hospital disaster management team.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Journalism or English, Master’s degree desirable. Significant experience of leading a communication function in a complex organization. Experience in managing crisis communications in a public facing organization. Appropriate professional accreditation i.e. Strategic Communication Management Professional (SCMP), Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). Understanding of health policy and political environment in Bermuda.
