The post holder is accountable for providing clinic and community-based patient care within established nursing standards and guidelines within the Nursing scope of practice; to include direct nursing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, counselling and anticipatory guidance to clients with communicable diseases including Sexually Transmitted Infections (STis), HIV/AIDS and sexual violence. Provides health promotion and health education to the public, target audiences and other health care professionals relevant to communicable diseases, STis and HIV/AIDS. Initiates contact tracing, treatment and follow up. Collaborates with Epidemiology and Surveillance unit with relevant statistical data collection and collation. Provides support to Nurse Epidemiologist in handling communicable disease outbreaks. In addition, provides health education and health promotion relevant to maternal health and family planning, breast and cervical cancer prevention. Supervision and operation of satellite clinics, design and maintain childbirth education classes, and manage daily cash collection in the clinic.
