Westmeath Residential and Nursing Care Home are looking for a Financial Controller to work closely with the Executive Director and Board Finance Committee. This position will be responsible for the preparation, oversight and integrity of the Company’s financial information and reporting. This role will oversee the accounting function, ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable regulation and provide accurate financial analysis to support business performance, planning and decision-making to ensure long-term financial sustainability.

Requirements

Recognized accounting qualification with a minimum of 5 years’ experience; Financial leadership experience with the ability to drive accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and uphold robust internal controls; Familiarity with regulatory reporting (Canadian GAAP for not-for-profit organizations preferred but not essential); Proven leadership and management abilities in diverse team settings; Demonstrated financial thinking with solid execution and feasibility analysis skills; Expertise in internal controls and financial practices; Strong organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities; Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and clear communication (written and verbal) skills; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with staff and management; Proficient in online banking, Microsoft Office, and financial software systems (Quick Books and Time Clock Plus / Blue Bison HR management systems is an asset).
