The postholder will be responsible for the Authority's supervision of regulated long-term insurers at a senior level, delivering a broad range of actuarial, analytical and regulatory functions that span technical assessment, on-site supervision, licensing support and stakeholder engagement at local and international levels. Key responsibilities include supporting underwriting and reserving assessments, approving internal capital models, developing industry benchmarks, assisting with the Bermuda supervisory regime (Economic Balance Sheet), and representing the Authority at international meetings.

Requirements

A master's degree or equivalent qualification in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance or a related quantitative field. FSA, FIA, FCIA, or similar professional credentials are preferred. A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant long-term insurance experience, of which at least five (5) years should be at a senior level in the financial services industry. Knowledge of insurance/reinsurance actuarial issues (pricing, reserving, capital modelling). Excellent written and presentation skills.
