The Corporation Secretary / Chief Executive Officer (CS) provides strategic leadership, operational management, financial stewardship, and long-term development for the Corporation of St. George. The CS serves as the principal executive officer, responsible for implementing Council policy, modernising systems, ensuring operational accountability, safeguarding heritage value, and advancing the strategic revitalisation of the Town. The role requires balancing heritage preservation, municipal operations, tourism development, and organisational transformation.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Management, Finance, Business, or related discipline; Minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible management experience; Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership or executive management role; Experience in municipal government, public administration, heritage management, tourism development, or infrastructure management strongly preferred; Demonstrated experience implementing operational systems and strategic planning; Experience managing budgets, audits, procurement, contracts, and staff; Experience with unions and collective bargaining is desirable.
