
Under the direction of the Insolvency Manager, the post holder is responsible for day-to-day duties related to the regulation of corporate and personal insolvencies in accordance with the Companies Act 1981; the Companies Winding-Up Rules 1982; the Bankruptcy Act 1989 and The Bankruptcy Rules 1990 and the regulation of private liquidations. In conjunction with the Insolvency Manager, the post holder is also responsible for other regulatory duties including the management, review and regulation of voluntary liquidation filings in accordance with the Companies Act 1981. The post holder has delegated supervisory authority to make decisions at a technical level to effectively and efficiently perform insolvency functions in accordance with the relevant legislation and with departmental policies and procedures. The post holder is responsible for developing and maintaining working relationships with industry professionals.
The post holder must be an accountant and/or an insolvency practitioner with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in accountancy and insolvency/liquidation, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory role. Must be a qualified accountant with full membership in an internationally recognized professional body (e.g., CA, CPA, CIMA, CGA, or ACCA) and eligible for membership with CPA Bermuda. Alternatively, a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or an equivalent qualification with a specialization in insolvency, or a Law Degree with a focus on insolvency. A Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency is highly desirable.
