The Risk Actuary supports the Risk Management and Actuarial department, working at the direction of the Risk Analytics Director, on risk analytics and modelling initiatives for Essent Reinsurance Ltd. The role involves developing and maintaining cash flow models and other complex financial analyses to support the pricing, management, and mitigation of portfolio risk, operating within objectives set by the Risk Analytics Director. Key areas of responsibility will include: Developing, maintaining and testing financial modeling and analytics tools to assess risks assumed in the area of reinsurance and/or of other secondary market mechanisms for risk transfer. Identifying, recommending and implementing process improvements to enhance the overall effectiveness of the risk and underwriting departments. Managing third-party risk models and carrying out research projects that expand and enhance their use across the business. Advising senior management on the risks, returns, performance patterns, financial trends and probabilities associated with the various risks and risk structures considered by Essent Re and its Agency clients. Keeping abreast of industry issues, trends and developments utilizing knowledge for risk transfer products.
