The Reinsurance Accountant will support the Bermuda Financial Controller in running the finance function, which supports Ascot’s Bermuda underwriting operations. Primary responsibility is for the recording and reporting of day-to-day re/insurance activities for the Bermuda licensed operating company, assisting with the preparation of timely and accurate financial information for internal and external reporting. Key duties include assisting in monthly and quarterly close, reporting under US GAAP, and ensuring accuracy of contracts in the underwriting system.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree plus internationally recognised accounting qualification with minimum 10 years post-qualification experience. Minimum 3 years industry experience at a re/insurance company. Knowledge of US GAAP for property and casualty companies. Familiarity with Bermuda, U.K., Lloyd's and US regulatory regimes. Knowledge of SUN Systems and Phinsys is an advantage. Excellent Excel skills required.
