The Head of CAT Modeling will lead a team in working closely with the Company's property, marine, casualty and specialty underwriters to help them best understand and respond to the potential impact of natural as well as manmade catastrophe exposures. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer, Arch Reinsurance Group and will work within a team of experienced reinsurance underwriters and actuaries.
Requirements
Master's degree in Mathematics or Sciences. 10 years' related experience, of which at least 5 years are in modeling catastrophe risks (including earthquake, hurricane and flood), through a reinsurer or major catastrophe software vendor. An in-depth understanding of reinsurance product lines and an understanding of reinsurance terms and conditions. Extensive experience using catastrophe models including AIR, RMS, Corelogic or KCC catastrophe models. Demonstrated ability to use VBA and proficiency with Excel, Access and SQL database management systems. Strong communication skills; the ability to explain complex concepts to less technical business partners.
