Symetra Bermuda Service Company LLC ("SBSC") is a Bermuda-based company operating within Symetra's broader life and annuity platform. SBSC's employees provide services to Symetra affiliates and strategic partners. The Actuarial Associate III will report to the SBSC Valuation Actuary supporting the maintenance and development of SBSC's modeling infrastructure. This role will be responsible for the maintenance of existing ALFA models, development of new model (both asset and liability) features, building and maintaining the data input and output infrastructure, and coordinating with upstream and downstream teams to enhance processes.

Responsibilities include:

Onboarding new transactions and lines of business into the model and processes
Developing new model functionality
Implementing model enhancements for existing lines of business
Developing and maintaining model documentation
Maintaining and improving data and model input infrastructure

Requirements

3+ yrs relevant actuarial experience; ASA pursuing FSA designation or equivalent; Strong modeling software knowledge and experience (ALFA preferred, but including similar platforms such as AXIS, Pathwise, Prophet, etc); Experience with Python, R, or similar platforms and initiative to develop this knowledge; Experience with both liability and asset modeling; Experience with GenAI (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) in daily work
