Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Senior Underwriter on our Excess Casualty team. Our Excess Casualty team brings extensive expertise and maintains strong, long-standing relationships with our broker partners. We provide a consistent underwriting approach, efficient turnaround times and are supported by an experienced claims team. We value long-term partnerships which are facilitated and supported by a strong and reliable service commitment. The Senior Underwriter will develop and manage a profitable long-term Excess Casualty Liability portfolio while enhancing broker and client relationships. This position will be based out of our Bermuda office.

Requirements

5-7 years re/insurance industry experience within underwriting and/or broking preferred (excess liability and/or umbrella liability focus). Bachelor's/University degree preferred and completion or progress toward CPCU or ACII designation is ideal. Ability to work extended hours when necessary and willingness to be in the market on a regular basis with some overnight travel. Experience managing complex casualty risk-managed accounts.
