Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Assistant Underwriter in our Bermuda Excess Casualty team. Our Excess Casualty team brings extensive expertise and maintains strong, long-standing relationships with our broker partners. We provide a consistent underwriting approach, efficient turnaround times and are supported by an experienced claims team. We value long-term partnerships which are facilitated and supported by a strong and reliable service commitment. Location: This position will be based out of our Bermuda office.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of Insurance Industry experience as a technical/underwriting assistant with similar duties is preferred. Willingness to be in the market with assigned Underwriter/s as necessary. Ability and willingness to learn and understand terminology, coverages and appetite for specific industry groups and customers. Knowledge of and willingness to work as a team. Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft suite of products, Nitro Pro, Image Right and Adobe Acrobat.
