The Senior Underwriter role presents a significant opportunity to act as a senior leader within the day to day underwriting of the Hiscox US team in Bermuda. You will help continue to build Hiscox’s position as a market leader in Property Reinsurance with our established clients, as well as building out our presence with clients we do not currently support. To do so, you will need a strong grasp of the fundamentals and be capable of applying the same irrespective of the nature of the risk before you.

Requirements

A highly regarded and established underwriter or broker with 7-10 years experience in a reinsurance role with established client and broker relationships. Proven track record of marketing to maintain long term partnerships as well as generating new business leads. Requires an ability and willingness for global travel. In depth knowledge of Property Reinsurance pricing across both proportional and non-proportional products. In depth knowledge of third party modelling tools of AIR and RMS a must. Experience with R, Python, SQL, and Snowflake database and application are a plus. Ability to interrogate, manipulate and draw conclusions from large data sets a must.
