AVLA Re, our reinsurance entity based in Bermuda, plays a strategic role in the group's international expansion and in strengthening our financial and regulatory management. We are currently seeking a Controller to lead financial and regulatory reporting, ensure compliance with the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA), and support the company's strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities include leading the preparation and review of regulatory financial statements, providing technical accounting support (US GAAP and IFRS 17), managing quarterly BSCR calculation, preparing annual budgets and forecasts, developing materials for the Board of Directors, and acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors and legal counsel.

Requirements

Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields; An internationally recognized accounting designation (CA, CPA, or similar); 5 years of experience obtained in a similar accounting/regulatory role, some of which has been obtained within a re/insurance firm; Experience with international accounting standards, including US GAAP and IFRS 17; Experience with BMA regulation or similar regulatory frameworks; Strong knowledge of financial accounting, solvency, and regulatory reporting; Strong analytical skills, autonomy, and executive-level communication.
